Between December 4th – 8th, CineMAiubit returns to UNATC.

The International Student Film Festival CineMAiubit, organized by UNATC, returns with a new edition full of unexpected and creative student films and events. The festival dates back to 1996 when it emerged to revitalize a seemingly declining industry. Now, at its 22^nd edition, the festival has a diverse selection of national and international films, presented in three competitive sections: fiction, documentary, animation/experiment. Entrance is free and the festival is addressed to both professionals in the field and those who want to see how directors who are just starting out contribute to the evolution of cinema; screenings will be followed by Q & A sessions. The jury includes Anamaria Antoci (producer), Asja Krsmanovic (programmer at Sarajevo Film Festival – Bosnia and Herzegovina), Iulia Rugină (director), Corina Stavilă (editor), Ana Ularu (actress), Zviad Dolidze (professor – Georgia), Vivi Drăgan Vasile (director of photography, producer), Nicolas Khabbaz (professor – Lebanon), Peter Muszatics (film historian and programmer at the Miskolc Film Festival in Hungary), Ivana Mladenovic (director), Isabela Ţenț (director), Bülent Küçükerdoğan (professor – Turkey), Cecilia Felmeri (director, professor), Nina Mihăilă (director), Laurenţiu Bratan (film critic).

Although the main focus is, of course, on film, this is not the only art present in the festival. The first day begins with the opening of a poster and photo exhibition, as well as virtual and augmented reality, held in the Berlogea Room and on the UNATC hall.

This year, CineMAiubit organizes three workshops, acting for film with Roxana Lupu, film directing with Cristi Puiu, and animation with Valeriu Caliman, Nina Mihăila and Cristian Radu.

Furthermore, CineMAiubit organizes, in partnership with the National Music University, a new edition of CINE-RITM, a workshop on film music. CINE-RITM is an academic program that aims to create connections between directors and composers that would result in developing audio-visual experiments and original soundtracks.

The CineMaiubit Project Development Lab, so far organized in partnership with Midpoint, reaches its 7th edition. Those who are interested in this workshop, are invited to submit their scripts by November 27^th. The theme of this year is “Love has no end”, and four short film scripts will be selected, which will be further developed, within the workshop, for three days, under the guidance of Csaba Bollok, a screenwriter and director of Hungarian origin, graduate of the Film and Theater Academy in Hungary, and professor at Esterhazy Karoly College, the Image Dynamics department. The workshop is addressed to Romanian students (UNATC students have priority), but international teams can enter as long as they have a UNATC graduate or student part of their team. On Friday, December 7^th, at 23:00, the audience can enjoy a night-screening signed by SUPER, the Teenage Film Festival.

On December 8^th, the book release of “The Film Author” and “Cinema of Exile”, written by Cătălina Simion-Călin, will take place in the Berlogea Room.

CineMAiubit Festival is organized by UNATC and will take place between December 4^th – 8^th, 2018 at UNATC – the Atelier, Berlogea, Cinema, and 112a rooms, and at Cinetic.
