Full Moon – Horror and Fantastic Film Festival – About the 8th edition
Full Moon – Horror and Fantastic Film Festival returns with the 8th edition in Biertan, Transylvania, with a new series of frightening movies.
Full Moon Festival has been organized by Romanian Film Promotion Association and presented by Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF) since 2012. Every year, Biertan Square is filled with monsters, zombies and ghosts ready to frighten the audience.
The films screening this year include the entire Nightmare on Elm Street series, presented in premiere at the festival as a celebration of 35 years since its release.
Full Moon brings on the big screen the classic and incomparable Zombie by Lucio Fulci, one of the most important Italian directors of genre, a film that also celebrates this year 40 years since its release.
From already established monsters such as Freddy Krueger, we get to the contemporary ones. Fuck You Immortality is Federico Scargiali’s debut black comedy which promises to terrify you and make you laugh in the same time with the help of some totally original characters.
Magnetick Pathways (dir. Edgar Pêra), a movie that shows that monsters don’t always have green skin and fangs, but can have an ordinary look and even more, can exist in the human consciousness. The films invite you to join protagonist Raymond Vachs along a strange and kaleidoscopic journey.
Deep Evil (dir. Mark Lu) explores eroticism and suspense in horror films and will have the international premiere at Full Moon festival.
Besides films, Full Moon Festival will host special events such as AbraCADAVRA, a “macabre” makeup workshop to be held on August 9 and 10 where participants will have the opportunity to learn about the horror makeup and how to do it from Claudia Ioana, make-up artist specialized in special effects and body painting.
Sport and cycling enthusiasts are expected at the Horror Tour 2019 on August 9 and 10 for the annual tour of the festival. Participants will explore the Biertan area (up to 65 km) for two days on a bicycle. There wil be a lunch break on a farm, wine tasting and, of course, the opportunity to visit the Biertan Church. The participation fee includes the bicycle so no need to bring it from home! More details can be found on the event page.
