San Sebastian International Film Festival
One of the most important festivals in the world, San Sebastian IFF will take place between September 18-26, 2020 in Spain. Entries for the official selection are open until June 15, 2020.
Feature films can participate provided that they are over 60 minutes in length, have been produced in the 12 months prior to the start of the Festival, and must be international premieres. Both fiction and documentary films can be submitted.
The Official Jury will grant the following awards: Golden Shell for Best Film (for the producer), Silver Shell for Best Director, Silver Shell for Best Actress, Silver Shell for Best Actor, Jury Prize for Best Cinematography, Jury Prize for Best Screenplay and Special Prize.

Animest
The 15th edition of Animest International Animation Film Festival will take place between November 9-15, 2020 in Bucharest. The films can be submitted until June 20, 2020.
Animest comprises seven official categories:
Short film (less than 50’);
Feature film (more than 50’);
Music video;
Student film;
Romanian short film ((local productions or co-productions);
Minimest (for a public of children aged 4 to 14);
VR animation.
There will also be the non-competitive sections, tributes and retrospectives dedicated to the latest tendencies of the genre and the history of animated film.

Locarno International Film Festival
The 73rd edition of Locarno Film Festival will take place between August 5-15, 2020. Entries are open until May 27, 2020.
Sections open to submissions:
The Concorso internazionale – fiction, documentary or animated feature films;
The Concorso Cineaști – reserved for first, second and third full-length features;
Moving Ahead – dedicated to works by well-established filmmakers, exploring new narrative forms and innovative film language;
The Pardi di domani – reserved for short and medium-length films not more than 59 minutes in length by filmmakers who have not yet made feature-length films.
The selected films must have been completed within the 12 months preceding their Festival screening and must be presented in international premiere.

Rasnov Film and Histories Festival
The call for Rasnov Film and Histories Festival is free until April 25, 2020; after that, a fee of 20 euro will be required for entries submitted until May 15, 2020. FFIR will be held between July 17-26, 2020.
Only feature length documentaries (minimum 40 minutes) produced after January 2019 are eligible for submission.
The festival has a competitive section and awards are offered in the following categories: Best Documentary, Audience Prize, Young Jury Prize.

Super
Super, festival of films made by teenagers has extended its deadline. The films can still be submitted until March 30, 2020.
Only short films not more than 40 minutes in length by high school students, aged 14 to 19, are eligible for submission.
Films can be enrolled in one of the following sections:
National competition;
Workshop friends – films made in film workshops (workshops Vira, One World and Let’s Go Digital);
Festival Friends – films made by former participants in the Super, now no longer high school.
