Moldova Film Festival – Open Call for the 1st edition
Moldova Film Festival kicks off its pilot edition by looking for the best Romanian art short films made in the last two years. The festival is seeking, among others, to discover and bring to the public emerging art projects.
Brought together under the theme Closing the Gap, the selected films will build an “informal map of the concept of distance”. “How do distances come into existence? Can they be reduced once the distancing process has begun – and if so, how exactly? What happens when they become irreparable? What are the subtle differences between distance and distancing? Is distance just a negative fact or are there situations that give it a positive connotation?” (source: Moldova Film Festival).
Only short films no longer than 30 minutes and no shorter than 3 minutes which have been produced between 2019-2021 are eligible for submission. They also need to have Romanian subtitles, if the language spoken in the film is other than Romanian.
Application is cost-free; the submission form can be found on the festival website.
In addition to film screenings, the program will include video installations and performances, masterclasses, cultural entrepreneurship workshops, interactive tech exhibitions, themed parties.
The festival will take place in Iasi between June 2–6, 2021.
The call for the Moldova Film Festival is open until April 7, 2021. For more details and the latest news, go to the official website and follow the Facebook page.
