Bucharest Internal Film Festival (BIFF) – about the 14th edition
This year, Bucharest International Film Festival (BIFF) takes place between 11th and 16th of June. The programme of this edition includes Romanian feature films, Israeli films and international short films.
The programme of BIEFF 2018 includes two new sections: international short films and Focus on Israel. Also, the festival celebrates the centenary with an exhibition of 20 posters, created with the support of the Romanian National Film Archives, several screenings and debates.
Among the Romanian films which can be seen at the 2018 BIEFF are One step behind the seraphim, Tarzan’s Testicles and Marița.
As we already mentioned, the highlight of this edition is the section called Focus on Israel, which features the films The Human Resources Manager, a tragic comedy that follows the story of an HR manager of the biggest industrial bakery in Israel, and Dancing Arabs, a story about a Palestinian-Israeli teenager who is transferred to a high-school in Jerusalem, where he struggles with issues of language, culture, and identity. Both screenings will be attended by the Israeli director Eran Riklis. This section also includes films such as: Death of a Poetess, The Cakemaker, To be part of that red and Longing.
The jury that will judge the films included in the competition is formed of: Claudia Landsberger (producer), Antonis Papadopoulos (artistic director of Drama International Short Film Festival), Cristina Flutur (actress), Antonio Flamini (artistic director of Terra di Siena International Film Festival and RomAfrica Film Festival) and Goran Radovanovic (director).
The opening gala of Bucharest International Film Festival is scheduled on Monday, June 11th, at 7:00 PM, at Cinema PRO and is followed by the screening of the film The Leisure seeker (dir. Paolo Virzi). The entrance is free, but the number of available seats is limited.

BIFF will happen between 11th and 16th of June, 2018 in several locations: Arcelor Halle (ARCUB), Cinema PRO, Romanian Cultural Institute, Elvire Popescu Cinema (French Institute), Cinemateca Union. The full schedule can be found on the official website of BIFF.
