The big winners at the Gopo Awards Gala 2020 (the updated list)

The Gopo Awards Gala had to postpone its March edition due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but returned with a reinvented, unique edition which took place outdoors, with all the safety and prevention measures in place.

Held on June 29, at Verde Stop Arena, the event started at 7.30 pm and was broadcast live on ProTV Plus and on the Gopo website. The awards ceremony was presented by Alex Bogdan and began at 8:30 pm.

The entire event can also be watched in rerun on July 1, at 10.30 pm, on Pro Cinema.

The film with the most nominations is La Gomera (dir. Corneliu Porumboiu), and the nominated films in the Best Picture category are Marona’s Fantastic Tale (dir. Anca Damian), La Gomera (dir. Corneliu Porumboiu), Monsters. (dir. Marius Olteanu), Parking (dir. Tudor Giurgiu) and Touch Me Not (dir. Adina Pintilie).

As for the Directing category, the nominees are Adina Pintilie (Touch Me Not), Anca Damian (Marona’s Fantastic Tale), Catalin Mitulescu (Heidi), Corneliu Porumboiu (La Gomera) and Marius Olteanu (Monsters.).

Actress Adela Marculescu received the Lifetime Achievement Gopo Award, and actor Virgil Andriescu the Lifetime Career Gopo Award.
