Oscars 2023 – And the winners are …

13 March, 2023

The Academy Awards took place on Sunday, March 12, on the famous stage of the Dolby Theater, Hollywood, Los Angeles.

Jimmy Kimmel returned to host the 95th Oscars, being the first time since 2018 that the event had only one host. All 23 categories were included in the live broadcast after the controversy sparked in 2022 when eight of them had been left out of the ceremony and presented separately.

The film that snatched the top award was the one also scoring the most nominations (11): Everything Everywhere All at Once.

The other contenders for Best Picture were: All Quiet on the Western Front (dir. Edward Berger), Avatar: The Way of Water (dir. James Cameron), The Banshees of Inisherin (dir. Martin McDonagh), Elvis (dir. Baz Luhrmann), The Fabelmans (dir. Steven Spielberg), Tár (dir. Todd Field), Top Gun: Maverick (dir. Joseph Kosinski), Triangle of Sadness (dir. Ruben Östlund), Women Talking (dir. Sarah Polley).
