Sundance Film Festival – Award Winners in 2020
Sundance Film Festival took place between January 23rd and February 2nd, and among the selected films were also the Romanian productions Colectiv (dir. Alexander Nanau) and Acasa, My Home (dir. Radu Ciorniciuc, Mircea Topoleanu).
The festival, coordinated by the Sundance Institute, had its first edition 35 years ago in 1985, and since then hundreds of films have been screened on the festival big screens.
It’s the place where some of the most powerful and original fiction or documentary stories in worldwide cinema come together. This year’s selection includes, as always, long-time directors as well as directors at the beginning of their international career but whose visions are just as bold.
Besides film screenings, the audience could also enjoy multimedia installations, performances, conferences with the invited filmmakers and music events.
Acasă, My Home is the winner of the Special Jury Award for Cinematography for World Documentary Awards.
