Student Hub is a platform through which Romanian Film Development wants to create professional development events for students and to inform them about the local film industry internships.

Following the Western example of some European countries such as England or France, we want to create monthly master classes for students having professional speakers from the national or international cinematography industry invited.

The first workshop from the Student Hub series will take place on Friday, 5^th of May 2017, starting at 6:30 PM, at CINETic Center (3B Tudor Arghezi Street). For two hours, Bogdan Mirică will talk with the students about “TV Series vs Film: from screenplay to the final product” and will answer their questions.

The event is free, but with limited access and it is addressed exclusively to bachelor degree and master degree students. For those who are interested in this event, please register in advance by sending an email to office@romfilmdevelopment.org until Thursday, May 4. On the day of the event, the access will be done based on the student card.

Bogdan Mirică is the director of the film Dogs, which won six trophies at this year’s edition of GOPO Awards, including the prize for Best debut feature film, and the FIPRESCI prize of the Un Certain Regard section of Films de Cannes 2016. He is also a screenwriter and co-director of HBO series, Shadows. His debut short film, Bora Bora (2011), was selected at festivals such as Lornaco and Warsow, and won in 2012 the TIFF Award for Best Short Film.

Bogdan graduated from Journalism University and at 27 years old, in 2005, he became the youngest Creative Director from the European advertisement. He then became interested in cinematography and moved to London to study scriptwriting and film production. Having various experience, both in Advertising and Film, Bogdan Mirică is a well-known speaker at worldwide workshops. We will meet with him on May 5th to learn more about the cinematography’s path from script to the final product.

Romina Banu

Photographer and editor; she co-founded Dissolved Magazine together with Melissa. For Films in Frame she gathers film and TV series recommendations for lazy weekends and she writes about interesting projects from the film industry. Other than that, she likes traveling, chilling with her cats and sleeping.
