Astra Film Festival opened submissions for their 24th edition to all those interested to apply with a documentary film.

Annually, the festival founded in 1993, spotlights contemporary reality and presents it to the public through documentary cinema. For Astra Film Festival the documentaries are an important and powerful instrument that broadens the horizon and analyses the human condition. The fest is creating the perfect setting for cinematographers to talk about the fundamental problems they encounter when they expose lives of real people on the big screen.

Astra Film Fest is looking for documentaries created with dedication and a strong point of view of the filmmaker. The cinematographic quality and the director’s straightforwardness in approaching the film’s subject are the most appreciated qualities for the jury. Creative documentaries as well as art films are welcomed to join the festival.

Astra Film Festival will take place in Sibiu between the 16th and 22nd of October.
