The third edition of ESTE Film Festival Sibiu starts on May 2^nd with the local premiere of Pororoca (dir. Constantin Popescu). This screening is scheduled on Wednesday, at 8:00 PM, in Aula Magna Halle of ‘Lucian Blaga’ University of Sibiu. The film is followed by a Q&A session with the filming team when the audience will be able to find out more details from behind the screen. Bogdan Dumitrache won the award for Best Leading Actor at 2017 San Sebastian FF for his role in this film.

The programme includes numerous films; we recommend you not to miss the In Frame section, which focuses on Anca Damian’s activity. The section includes three films signed by her: Crulic – The path to beyond, The Magic Mountain and Perfect Health.

All these films will be screened for the very first time in Sibiu.

If you want to enjoy the films in an unconventional space, ESTE Film’s programme features a CineBrunch, where the film Soul Kitchen will be screened (2009, dir. Fatih Akin).

Last but not least, the festival also features a programme for children and teenagers called CinExplorez, which includes 4 age appropriate European films and after-screening Q&A sessions which will surely engage them in a dialogue: Summer 1993 (Carla Simón), Anchors Up (dir. Simen Alsvik, Will Ashurst), March of the Penguins 2: The Next Step (dir. Luc Jacquet) and Tales from the Lakeside (dir. Zsolt Pálfi)
